i2CAT joins RENIC

The i2CAT Foundation has joined this March to the Spanish Network of Excellence in Cybersecurity Research (RENIC).

The i2CAT Foundation is a CERCA centre for research and innovation in advanced digital technologies located in Barcelona. Since 2003, i2CAT has been promoting the digital society of the future through the knowledge generated in the development of R&D projects and activities in fields such as cybersecurity, 5G, IoT, VR and immersive technologies, blockchain, artificial intelligence, New Space and digital social technologies.

The centre collaborates with companies, public administrations, academic institutions and users to apply this knowledge to solve social and business challenges through:

• The generation of excellence knowledge aimed at solving the challenges of companies, citizens and public administration (mission-driven research).
• Collaboration and establishment of synergies with other agents in the local research and digital innovation ecosystem to co-develop solutions and products that generate a transformative impact.
• Digital empowerment of citizens through digital social innovation.
• The leadership of pioneering initiatives that promote a digital and innovative country.
