INCIBE has presented the “Catalogue and knowledge map of cybersecurity research”

INCIBE publica el "Catálogo y mapa de conocimiento de la I+D+i en ciberseguridad"

The Spanish National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE), has presented the Catalogue and knowledge map of cybersecurity research, which has been developed together with the national research ecosystem in the field of cybersecurity and that allows identifying the main researchers, as well as the results of their research activity.

Through descriptive data sheets, the document includes a list of research, development and innovation centers in Spain (both public and private), including their characteristics, background, current and emerging research lines as well as the results of their research activity.

This catalogue is a tool whose main objective is to promote the transference of knowledge and communication between science and industry, strengthening cooperation in the Cybersecurity Sector. The main beneficiaries of this initiative are not only the agents of this research ecosystem, but also the cybersecurity industry as well as the end users demanding cybersecurity solutions to address current and future threats and challenges.

Through an analysis of documentary sources, in addition to an exhaustive survey of those in charge of the research centers, 1.302 researchers have been identified, distributed in the 104 research teams distributed throughout the country, which are distributed in 9 technology centers, 94 universities and 1 research center. In addition, research is classified into 11 main research areas, where it highlights the Reliable and updatable systems, Privacy and the Processing of data among others.

The data provided by this catalogue will be presented in an interactive map format in the near future.

The catalogue is available at INCIBE website (https://www.incibe.es/en/characterization-r-d-cybersecurity/research-catalog).
